(below) Photo of Red Cloud, taken about 1890; professional-quality inkjet print on cardstock, handmade by Hemphasis staff, of 100% hemp fiber. Cut out and mounted on hemp art paper.

The image is a commonly used photograph in historical articles and documentaries. Image is 33/4" x 43/8", printed on and cut out from 100% Pine Ridge hemp paper. The oval image is mounted on a piece of thick 100% hemp paper.

The background sheet on which the image is mounted combines Pine Ridge hemp (about 85% of the volume) with recycled hemp paper (about 12%), native Pine Ridge grasses (about 2%), and some blue fibers from a recycled pair of 100% hemp pants. The outside dimensions of the background sheet are about 81/2" x 103/4".

The result is a beautiful sheet of natural-colored (except for the blue hemp fibers) art paper, as thick as a couple of sheets of construction paper. The edges are ragged all around, just as they came off the papermaking screen. The overall effect is that of an image matted behind and visible through a cutout window in an animal skin.       eBay auction for this item

If you are the winning bidder on any of the eBay auctions of the above items, and if you mention that you want your bonus stuff for visiting this page, you will also receive a copy of each edition of Hemphasis magazine. We produced two print editions in 2004, each full of hemp nutrition, body care, and industrial hemp use information. Lots of ads from U.S. and Canadian hemp product manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers. Take a look at the covers of these two magazines (scroll down this page).

You'll also receive a provenance, documenting the origin of the hemp in the paper, which will make your Hemphasis Art Print more valuable, especially when the hemp industry takes off in the U.S. or on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
